Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
The first time I read Jonathan Safran Foer's debut novel, Everything Is Illuminated, I cried because the language
was so beautiful. And then I cried because at age 25, Foer had not only published but turned his first book into an
international best seller. Lucky bastard. I didn't put this one down until I finished it.

The Know-It-All: One Man's Humble Quest to Become the Smartest Person in the World by
A.J. Jacobs
I just picked this up today. I loved the title, and it's the true story of an NPR correspondant who decided to
read the entire Encyclopedia Britannica. And, really, for those who know me they will find it decidedly fitting.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince by J.K. Rowling
Okay, I'm not exactly reading it. That was accomplished by 10 pm on Saturday, July 16th, the day it came out.
It would have been sooner, but 1) we picked up our copies of the book in Wayzata and then had to drive home; 2) I fell asleep
(gasp!) for about three hours during the night and 3) I had to take a break to go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and
grab a couple pints at the pub. But if I ever find out that ANYONE reading this website has not read the Harry Potter
series, you are dead to me.
